The frame and hardware of the bike are all coated to prevent rust when exposed to water. However, the introduction of sweat to the bike can always increase the risk of corrosion as it can break down protective coatings. To mitigate the issue, we recommend wiping down the bike after each ride to remove sweat. In addition, the handlebar tape should be replaced regularly and the handlebars inspected for corrosion, as sweat that soaks through the tape can damage the parts underneath over time.
